The hotel is located nn the Avenida dos Aliados, 20 minutes away from the airport (by car/bus), near São Bento railway station and subway station and less than 10 minutes away from Douro river (on foot), where the historic centre, "Ribeira", and the famous Port Wine cellars can be found.

The Dos Aliados Hotel is housed in a traditional corner building, its ornate Baroque façade adorned with wrought iron balconies. The small, welcoming lobby is situated on the second floor. There are 38 well-appointed guestrooms, equipped with the modern comforts expected from a high quality hotel in this category. The hotel has no restaurant, but guests can visit the Guarany Café/Restaurant, which is also situated in the building and has been operating since 1933. On the weekends (Friday and Saturday) live music is played. The hotel does, however, house a bar, and the lounge offers a coin-operated Internet terminal.
